Song of the day

The band Fun is simply that – fun! Very catchy lyrics, great sound. I was a big fan of The Format back in high school and the lead singer, Nate Ruess, now heads up Fun – which is why you might find the voice familiar.

A few weeks ago, I was given the best early birthday present EVER – all of my grandmother’s vintage Chanel earrings. There are four that are missing their mates, so I’m thinking about turning those into rings (especially the black and the pearl.) I have been wearing these babies A LOT lately – they just add that extra oomph to any outfit.

Q & A

I guess I was supposed to upload this on Monday. Oops!

Anyway, here is my Q & A vlog for the week. It’s part of a weekly thing with bloggers from all over.

I’ve never done a vlog before so excuse the awful lighting in my bedroom and the fact that I look like a hot mess.

Happy Primary Day!

Birthday dinner

It’s official. I’m a year older (27, to be exact.) And my birthday weekend, thus far, has been amazing. After spending the day at MOCA, my boyfriend and I were treated to a lovely dinner at Salt, inside the Ritz-Carlton on Amelia Island (the meal was courtesy of my fabulous grandmother.) The meal was divine, especially the amazing salts that accompany each dish. And the wait-staff could not have been more attentive. All in all, a wonderful experience. Cheers to another year 😉

What I wore:::

Dress, Elizabeth & James
Coat, The Row (yes, I wore an entire outfit designed by the Olsen twins and couldn’t be happier about it)
Belt, vintage
Heels, Prada
Earrings, vintage (purchased at Ellie Bing)
Clutch, vintage Bottega Veneta

Day at the Museum

To kick-start my birthday weekend, we ventured downtown to eat brunch at Brick and to check out the opening of ReFocus: Art of the 60’s at MOCA Jacksonville. It was a fantastic exhibit, especially for pop-art lovers. Two floors of work from Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Jasper Johns and many more. They are also showing Andy Warhol films in the MOCA theatre downstairs, as well as some interesting short films (of naked ladies covering themselves in toilet paper) on the second floor.

What I wore::::
Dress, very old 12th Street for Cynthia Vincent
Jacket, J. Crew
Fur stole, vintage
Ankle boots (these are actually rain boots, but whatev), Givenchy
Bag, Prada
Earrings, vintage Chanel
Leopard belt, vintage

Dinner & a Movie

…well, that was the plan. By the time we were seated at J. Alexander’s and had indulged in our meal (fire-roasted artichoke to start, ahi tuna salad for me, rotisserie chicken for him) it was already 10:20, so we headed home instead of catching a showing of Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close.

It’s starting to get chilly again which I actually quite like (I think I prefer winter dressing to summer dressing – it’s more fun to layer.)

*My apologies for the blurry pictures…I should probably start breaking out my nice Canon.

What I wore::::
Draped top, Helmut Lang
Silk pants, Helmut Lang
Shoes, Prada
Chunky necklace, vintage
Clutch, Samudra

PS. How sweet is my friend Kristin? She got me gifts that I had mentioned previously on my blog-that fantastic chalkboard candle and an Ah-mazing re-worked vintage necklace that I can’t wait to wear, both from Penelope T.

Best of

Spent Thursday at Jax Mag’s Best of Jax Party….since I helped write the issue, it was fun to celebrate it with friends. Aside from being unbearably hot, the party (which was held at Everbank field, home of the Jags) was full of delicious food from the likes of Bistro Aix, Medure and BB’s.

Dress, Rodarte for Target
Blazer, Helmut Lang
Shoes, Miu Miu
Earrings, vintage, from Ellie Bing
Clutch, vintage Bottega Veneta

Lissie & Ellie Goulding, “Everywhere I Go.”

Listening to this while my boyfriend watches the Giants – 49ers game.

Got some great vintage at an estate sale this weekend. Scored five ties for my boyfriend (three Dior, one Lagerfeld, and one Giorgio Armani) and a Christian Dior trench – which basically swallows me whole, so I’ll have to see if I can get it altered.
