NYE

I’m attending a masked ball this New Years Eve, and would love to sport some sexy cat-eyes beneath my lace mask (a recent Etsy purchase.)

Holiday Party

A chic look for a holiday party. Simple black dress, which acts as the perfect canvas for some killer shoes and simple (but luxe) jewelry. This look is just begging for a swipe of bold red lipstick.

Holiday Party

Belted Dress: Doo ri
Clutch: Alexander Wang
Shoes: House of Harlow (locally available at Penelope T)
Bracelet & Earrings: Eddie Borgo

{This dress would also take well to that fur gilet from my previous outfit collage.}

Look I Love: Sequins

It is my firm belief that sequins shouldn’t be saved just for ringing in the New Year (though that’s a great time to don a sequined number.) I say wear sequins all the time – just make sure to juxtapose them with something like denim or camo, so they don’t look too much like a throwback to the 90′s.

Christmas Gifts

A short list of fab Christmas gifts to give (or, ahem, get.)

;)

Chalkboard Candle: $25, available locally at Penelope T

Sofia Coppola Rosé: This is my absolute favorite hostess gift and the perfect wine to serve before a dinner party. Prices vary, but you can usually find bottles for around $20 at Fresh Market (Costco also sells it!)

RGB nail polish: Great colors, hip packaging. $14, available at Model Citizen.

Other ideas: Cottage by the Sea sells some great gifts for the home cook, including a beer can chicken kit that turns out some deliciously moist and flavorful whole chickens (and can be used on the grill) as well as a baked brie set, which makes a wonderful hostess gift. Tickets to the Symphony: Chances are, this is a gift your friends wouldn’t buy themselves. But what a great way to treat someone to a night out – plus, there are some fabulous concerts to choose from. Including Cirque de la Symphonie (Cirque du Soleil meets classical music) and the upcoming opera, La Boheme.

Get to gifting!

Cleanin’ out my closet

There is nothing more satisfying than cleaning out your closet. A couple of fabulous ladies just came to my house to have a look-see at some of my lesser-worn items (in some cases, never worn) and they walked away with 18 things to consign for me.

For those in the Jacksonville area, C.U.T. Consignment will be opening in early January on Baymeadows & San Jose. And if their Facebook page is any indication, they will have some great pieces. Someone is consigning a gorgeous YSL Mombasa bag, and a great pair of Manolos and my pieces include a very of-the-moment pair of wide-leg Theory pants, a cashmere Marc Jacobs Collection top, Alexander Wang dress and a host of other pretty little things.

Thanks, girls!

Cool

A look for one of those typical Florida days where it’s technically winter, but sure doesn’t feel like it.

Beauty favorites

As I get older (I’ll be 27 in only a month!) I find myself turning toward tried-and-true products in an effort to streamline my beauty routine. I have somewhat of an obsession with skincare products & makeup, and love trying out new things, but have come to find that too many products can have disastrous effects on my skin. The following are some of the more recent standout pieces of my beauty arsenal.

Photobucket

:::NARS Copacabana Stick:::
The ultimate product for when you have a hot date, are going to a nice dinner or event or if you just need a pick-me-up. I dab it on the inner corners of my eyes, and on my cupid’s bow. Gives you that whole lit-from-within thing.

Photobucket

:::Josie Maran Blush:::
Josie’s products are amazing, in that they all contain argan oil – so even the makeup is good for you! Plus, that packaging is oh-so-glam.

:::Ole Henricksen Invigorating Night Gel:::
This is the jam. Actually, all Ole products are amazing, in my experience. Like his similarly-named eye gel, this product is somewhat sticky – but I am a firm believer that women should go to bed with sticky faces (you need to slap some moisturizer on your epidermis, at the very least.) It also burns (just a tad), but again, I think that only means it’s doing it’s job.
